C. Jason Wang, MD, PhD, is the Director of the Center for Policy, Outcomes, and Prevention, and Bowei Lee Professor of Pediatrics and Health Policy at Stanford University. He also co-chairs the mobile health and other new technologies group at the Stanford Center for Population Health Sciences. He received his B.S. in Biology from MIT, M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and Ph.D. in policy analysis from RAND. He also completed his fellowship in health services research as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and a NRSA Fellow at UCLA. After his pediatric residency training at UCSF, he worked in Greater China with McKinsey and Company. In 2000, he was recruited to serve as the project manager for Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Reform Taskforce. He is a co-founder and board member of Cognito Health, a medical technology company focused on improving patient safety in the elderly using sensor based IOT and Ai. He currently serves on the RAND Health board and as a board member of the Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center in Taiwan, as well on the advisory board of several biotech and health care companies in US and Taiwan.

Among his honors, he was selected as the student speaker for the Harvard Medical School commencement ceremony in 1996, a recipient of the 2011 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, and an invited speaker for Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health 100th Year, Child Health Policy Symposium. He recently served as a member of the US National Academies of Sciences,

Medicine, and Engineering Committee (NASEM) Committee on “Improving the CDC Quarantine Station Network’s Response to Emerging Threats.”

Dr. Wang’s recent work on COVID-19 policy, “Response to COVID-19 in Taiwan: Big Data Analytics, New Technology, and Proactive Testing” published in JAMA, has been viewed over 1.22 million times online (ranked top 3 most viewed JAMA article in 2020) and covered by 273 media outlets world-wide, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Bloomberg, NPR, TIME, Newsweek, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, etc.
